On Rainbows and Puppy Dogs


Check out We Are the Ones, an extraordinarily popular YouTube video that has been viewed more than 1.6 million times. It was composed by Hollywood celebrities and ‘ordinary Americans’ who are passionate in their support of Barack Obama in his bid to become President of the Untied States and leader of the free world.

The video is composed of constant melodic repetition of the phrase ‘We can change the world’ and background chants of ‘O-ba-má! O-ba-má!', with the entirety of the remainder of the message transcribed below. (I had to omit a small, but no doubt significant, portion of the message because I am not fluent in Spanish.)


I would like to see a cleaner earth for my child that I’m bringing into the world very soon.

I think it’s time for change. I want a better future for my children.

I would like our environment to be safe.

This is our America. My America. Your America.

Someone to actually make a difference in my generation.

I would like to see us in a world without fear.

Basically … um … I just want the war to end.

I would like the rest of the world to think highly of our amazing country.

I think the thing that inspires me most about Obama is that he really is going to be the president of the United States. You know, he’s not just going to be the president of the top ten percent, or the president of the most powerful corporations, or the president of the most powerful lobbyists. He’s gonna be our president. He’s gonna speak for us. ‘Cause we put him there.

Obama is about unity to this country and changing America’s face to the world.

This is my America, your America, our America.

And he stands for not just black people but all people. He’s almost like a revival for a lot of people’s souls.

I believe in Barack Obama because he believes in us.


I suppose that some of those who authored, and appeared in, this video are genuine Marxists and/or black supremacists. But I suspect that the remainder are simply useful idiots who believe that history, education, research and facts are bothersome, and a life of security and fulfillment can result from focusing on rainbows and puppy dogs.


I don’t begrudge the vast ocean of ‘citizen sheep’ represented by this video their ignorance, but I deeply fear the fact that they may now comprise the majority of the American electorate. Our corrupt-to-the-bone ‘leadership’ in Washington, the NEA, our Marxist institutions of ‘higher education’, the Hollywood elite, and the mainstream media must be very proud.

Al-Qaeda has no use for rainbows or puppy dogs.

Am absolutely brilliant summary by 'betty boop', a FreeRepublic friend of mine:

... based on what I can glean about Obama's personal history, which the MSM does not talk about much in the U.S., I've concluded that BHO has been nurtured and cultivated in radical politics all his life, starting with his mother; and that he is definitely being "cultivated" now. I get the impression that his entire campaign has largely been about "stage management" (especially including "issues management").

Notice how the campaign is trying to depict the mother: as some farm girl from Kansas, and thus (we are to conclude), a natural born American patriot in all things. Yet it seems fair to say Mom had little use for things American, that she herself had been "radicalized," and was attracted to other "radicalized" people. BHO's father was a Kenyan national whose family is prominent in Kenyan politics. And that politics is socialist, and increasingly Islamist (as we see with BHO's first cousin Raila Odinga, who is fomenting an Islamist insurgency in Kenya today).

Then, abandoned by BHO's father, Mom marries an Indonesian Muslim, and takes her son to live in Indonesia for the first ten years of his life -- the formative years. BHO was schooled in Indonesia, first at a Catholic school, where he was enrolled as a person of the Muslim faith; and then at a Madrassa. BHO has half-brothers in Kenya, and a half-sister in Indonesia, who insist that BHO was born and lived as a Muslim. Yet now BHO denies this, and removes Muslim women from his public stage....

How does he explain this? The fact is, he doesn't; because nobody will ask for an explanation.

Then Mom sends BHO back stateside, to the elite Pounahou School in Hawaii. During this period of BHO's life, he was mentored, nurtured, and cultivated by Frank Marshall Davis, a Black separatist and known member of the Communist Party U.S.A. Eventually BHO landed in Chicago, and launched his political career with the support of nearly every radical-progressive group in Chicago. Long-time friends and associates, such as William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Jeremiah Wright, Father Pfleger, et al. are radical progressives of one stripe or another; but all are united in the common idea of transforming America into their twisted version of "social justice" -- whether by peaceful means or violent means if necessary -- and let the Constitution be damned.

In short, it seems Barack Hussein Obama's vision of government is premised on the idea that America is a "community" in dire need of being "organized."

I notice that Obama's words change all the time; but his friends do not. And that tells me a lot.

I find the mendacity of the Obama campaign absolutely sickening. Obama claims that words have meaning. Nice of him to acknowledge that. But he definitely "honors" that understanding by violating it all day long.

I mean jeepers, one morning he states it is his policy that Jerusalem should forever remain an undivided city, under the administration of the Jews (Israel). Then by the afternoon of the very same day, speaking before a different audience, he says his policy regarding Jerusalem is that the division of Jerusalem is a "final status issue" that will be decided later on (in conjunction with the Palestinian Authority and Hamas -- folks who want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.)

One simply CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. So, where is Obama, really, on this policy question? What does he really think about Jews, Jerusalem, and the survival of Israel itself?

I think it was Lenin who observed that the best kind of a lie of all is the really BIG LIE, because — ironically — the bigger the lie, the easier it is for the public to swallow.

IMHO, Obama is the biggest political liar I've seen come down the pike in my entire life! And that's saying quite a lot.

One of the most dramatic changes in American life in the years since World War II involves the way we raise our children. We used to do it ourselves. Now, convinced we have better things to do, many of us leave the job to others.

Encouraging this flight from parenthood, Sen. Barack Obama...has proposed what he calls his "Zero to Five" plan.

It is a collection of programs aimed at getting the government involved in the raising of your children from the moment they are born.

"The first part of my plan focuses on providing quality affordable early childhood education to every child in America," Obama said..."As president, I will launch a Children's First Agenda that provides care, learning and support to families with children ages zero to five."

"We'll creater Early Learning Grants to help states create a systemn of high-quality early care and education for all young children and their families," he said.

"And we'll help more working parents find a safe, affordable place to leave their children during the day by imporving the educational quality of our childcare programs and increasing the childcare tax credit."

This week, Obama upped his ante by vowing to "double funding for after-school programs that help children learn and give parents relief."

Obama, of course, will also continue to defend your "right" to hire a physician to kill your child in utero so you won't have to raise the child at all.

I am so sick of watching the news showing Obama traveling all over the country, making all kinds of points, "moving to the right" (until he gets in the White House), etc. And you'd think John McCain was sitting in a rocking chair somewhere sucking on a popsicle. They don't even try to hide their bias anymore.

The entire verbal message in this video bends over backwards to not sound like English- from the pronunciation of Obama, to the use of Spanish, and probably more than half of the people talking are talking with foreign accents. That alone says volumes. America as we like to know it will cease to exist if this man is elected.

Forget the video. Obama himself only talks coherently when he is looking down reading a script. Off the cuff its all oh, ah, ya know... And this is the guy who's going to use "diplomacy" to stare down our enemies. Good God!

Grand jury indicts PA Majority Leader DeWeese and others


Gov. Ed Rendell investigated for alleged corrupt practices
Prosecutors grill Rendell's state police driver

A grand jury in Pennsylvania has reportedly indicted state Rep. Bill DeWeese, the Majority Leader of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

DeWeese is the highest-ranking Democrat in the Pennsylvania legislature.

Also indicted are DeWeese's former lieutenant and majority whip, Mike Veon, and several others.

Majority Leader DeWeese's reported indictment, on the surface, involves the awarding of bonuses to legislative staffers who allegedly performed political work.

But what began as an investigation into legislative bonuses has blossomed into a wide-ranging grand jury inquiry into corrupt practices throughout Pennsylvania state government.

Gov. Ed Rendell and staff members are also under investigation.

A friend in Pennsylvania

Prosecutors in the last several weeks have grilled Gov. Rendell's state police driver about the governor's associations and whereabouts, and other matters.

Federal and state investigators are examining, among other issues, Gov. Rendell's alleged dealings with organized crime figures, his administration's awarding of contracts, and contributions to the governor.

"The problem is Rendell has a lot of immunity," one observer says.

More importantly, there are also significant bi-partisan obstacles to investigating Ed Rendell.

In 2006 the newly created Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board awarded a casino license to Louis DeNaples, a convicted felon who has long been publicly accused of associations with organized crime figures. DeNaples and his Catholic priest, Joseph Sica, are currently under indictment for allegedly lying about mob associations when DeNaples applied for his casino license.

Gov. Rendell, a Democrat, and state Attorney General Tom Corbett, a Republican, both received large political donations from DeNaples in the run-up to the awarding of the slots license. Rendell received two donations from DeNaples totaling $115,000 in August 2002. AG Corbett accepted a $25,000 contribution from DeNaples in 2004.

Both Rendell and Corbett to date have refused to return DeNaples' contributions.

In contrast, Gov. Rendell's Democratic predecessor, the late Gov. Bob Casey, returned donations offered by DeNaples, who is a Scranton businessman.

In Gov. Ed Rendell, DeNaples found a friend in Pennsylvania who does not seem to care at all about DeNaples' dodgy background.

In fact, Rendell increasingly is seen as obstructing the truth about Louis DeNaples. After Gov. Rendell and the legislature created the state Gaming Control Board in 2004, the Rendell-controlled state police refused to share sensitive criminal background information on DeNaples with the board.

Who's the boss?

Heaven can wait: Indicted slots licensee Louis DeNaples (left) with Father Joseph Sica. Former PA Gov. Bob Casey returned donations from DeNaples, but Gov. Ed Rendell (top of page) took $115,000.


Republicans share equal dollops of blame for the DeNaples fiasco. Former Republican U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Thomas Marino, recused himself from investigations involving DeNaples when he notified the U.S. Justice Department that he was a reference on DeNaples' slots license. Marino now works as an in-house attorney for DeNaples.

"It's corrupt from top to bottom," one shocked observer groans.

Gov. Rendell has not been forthcoming about his relationship with DeNaples, or his roll in the awarding of a casino license to the DeNaples' Mount Airy Casino Resort in the Poconos.

Majority Leader DeWeese may provide insight into this and other questions. As house Democratic leader, DeWeese appointed longtime friend Jeffrey Coy to the Gaming Control Board in 2004.

In Pennsylvania, political calculations play a role in the prosecution of DeWeese and the others. The Democrats in the state General Assembly hold the slimmest of majorities -- a single seat -- and the loud indictment of the top Democrat in the legislature may swing the House to the Republicans in future elections.

As well, Republicans AG Corbett, and U.S. Attorney Patrick Meehan of Pennsylvania's eastern district, are both seen as jockeying for position to succeed Rendell as governor.

Making a list and checking it twice

Company they keep: Former GOP U.S. Attorney Tom Marino (top) was listed as a reference for DeNaples' slots license, and now works for DeNaples. PA Attorney General Tom Corbett (bottom) refuses to return $25,000 contribution from DeNaples.


Grand jurors in the past months have heard appalling testimony into what amounts to deep-rooted systemic corruption in the Rendell administration, the state legislature, and the courts.

Grand jurors appear to be shocked at the level of corruption and partisan cronyism allowed under Gov. Rendell and AG Corbett.

Under scrutiny, for example, are lists of major political contributors. When a contributor gives five thousand dollars to, say, Gov. Rendell or other Democrats, the contributor's name is added to a list. If somebody needs help from state government, his name must be on the contributors list, or help won't be forthcoming, Pennsylvanians complain.

Investigators are also probing allegations that some $26 million in public money has been given to casino developers.

See no evil, speak no evil

Growing systemic corruption in Pennsylvania also involves the attempted silencing of writers and reporters, who increasingly find themselves threatened with subpoenas and legal action. DeNaples in June subpoened 15 reporters, demanding names of sources.

It's part of an obvious effort to stifle public review of growing corruption under Ed Rendell in the Keystone State.

The trick for compromised Republican prosecutors will be to keep public attention focused on the small-scale Democratic staff bonus scandal, and away from revelations involving the truly dark and shameful Rendell/Corbett/DeNaples travesty.

Meanwhile, also in the background, the not-so-radical League of Women Voters recently filed a federal lawsuit charging that Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices gave themselves a pay raise in return for a ruling allowing casino gambling. In essence, between the lines, the suit alleges that the high court judges lined their pockets by selling the commonwealth out to the mob.

It's not exactly a beautiful day in Pennsylvania. Concerned citizens, at last, are beginning to speak out. That could be the darkest trouble of all for Pennsylvania officials of both parties.

Laughing matter

For months Rep. DeWeese has been on edge about the possibility of an impending indictment, staffers say. In a playful exchange in his capitol office, DeWeese recently laughed away the possibility that he would be indicted.

Two staff lawyers told him to stop laughing and to take the possibility seriously.

Tom Andrews, a spokesman for Rep. DeWeese, when asked for comment on this story, ironically laughed.

"I laughed," Andrews said. "That's my comment."

When asked if he wished to make any further comment, Andrews said, more soberly, "We have been cooperating fully with the investigation."

Prosecutors are expected to make public the charges against Majority Leader DeWeese and others within the next week or so.
