REQUIEM

Below are the two final essays to be posted on Allegiance and Duty Betrayed. The first one is written by a friend -- screen name 'Euro-American Scum' -- who, over the past four years, has been the most faithful essayist here. He has written about everything from his pilgrimage to Normandy in 2004 to take part in the 60th–year commemoration of the invasion, to his memories of his tour in Vietnam. His dedication to America’s founding principles ... and those who have sacrificed to preserve them over the past 200+ years ... is unequaled. Thank you, E-A-S. It has been a privilege to include your writing here, and it is a privilege to call you my friend.

The second essay is my own farewell. And with it I thank all of the many regular visitors, and those who may have only dropped in occasionally, for coming here. I hope you learned something. I hope a seed or two was planted. But, even if not, I thank you for stopping by ... 25 March, 2010

For Freedom

I urge every reader here to take ten minutes out of your day sometime soon and watch this video. Then, if you believe as I do, that it is the most powerful, most truthful exposé available as to the criminal government elements that are behind our current economic meltdown, please send it to as many people as you can.

I know many of you have volunteered, or will be volunteering, to work for the election of McCain-Palin. I will be doing the same. But there is no amount of envelope licking, phone calling, or wearing out of shoe leather that will be able to match the ten-minute viewing of a video that fingers the culprits that the media are attempting to keep under wraps. Those culprits are directly involved in this election and the desire to attain the White House and retain control of Congress.

We cannot allow that to happen, and I believe the compilation of facts that this video represents, if placed in the hands of all thinking Americans, will see to it that it doesn't.

We are being fed whitewashed reports about the cause of this economic meltdown. If the true perpetrators of this massive criminal undertaking are not uncovered, removed from power, and punished, there is no hope of realizing the kind of all-encompassing economic and political reform that will be necessary to not only stabilize our economy, but to ensure our very survival as a free republic.

TAKE TEN MINUTES -- AND SPREAD THE WORD!

I agree. The video is well researched and well done. I'll forward it to as many people as I can.

Thanks, Joanie.

As part of any "deal" on this bailout bill, the Community Reinvestment Act should be rescinded.

Another video: CNN interview with Sen. Richard Shelby

"I have a letter here signed by 200 of America's best and brightest economists who all oppose the Paulson Plan" --Shelby

For those who don't know, Sen. Shelby used to be the chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee until the Republicans lost the Senate in 2004. Sen. Chris Dodd [D-Fannie Mae] is now the Chairman.

And now, for our morning poetry piece, I choose The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats, January 1919:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Joanie, as usual this kind of information should be plastered all over the front pages of every newspaper and be the headline news on every news program.

THERE'S the real crime in all of this!

I will see to it that everyone I know gets a link to this!

I thought I knew most of what there was to know about this, but after watching the video I AM SO MUCH MORE ANGRY!!!!!!!!

And damn the media for keeping the criminals' identities under wraps!

Fox is reporting that a deal is close and should be announced by midnight. Just goes to show that THE HUGE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS BEING AGAINST A DEAL OF ANY KIND means absolutely nothing to them.

A link to the video is up on Drudge now, so lots of folks will be watching it.

Nothing is going to be done because the Dems are in control of Congress and Bush needs them to bail out Wall Street. Even if the Dems did not control Congress, the Republicans are too "wussy" to do anything meaningful. The 911 commission did nothing meaningful because of the Dems. Jamie Gorelick was a 911 commissioner and had a direct link to US failings and yet she was on the commission.

If you think the real culprits will be pursued, I have a bridge to sell you

John, 'The Second Coming' is absolutely beautiful in its imagery, and so extremely appropriate.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

Joanie.

Once more I wish you and all those like you every success in your struggle to keep your freedoms.

I cannot see the video as I am writıng this in a Turkish internet cafe and the video is censored (as our various other sites I wanted to check.)

To experience such censorship (albeit only on holiday for me) is a true reminder of the importance of freedoms we sometimes take for granted.

I totally support the title of your article.
